Safeguarding adults and children
Our commitment to protecting the people we work with from harm, abuse and neglect.
We work in people's homes, often with adults at risk and sometimes children. Everyone on the AdaptScot team — staff, sub-contractors and trade partners — has a duty to act if they have a concern.
Scope
This policy follows the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 and the Children (Scotland) Act 1995. It applies to every site visit, survey, installation and follow-up.
What we do
- PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme membership for client-facing staff.
- References and ID-verified, insured trade partners only.
- Two-person visits where requested or where a risk assessment indicates.
- Clear photo-ID on every visit; appointments booked in advance.
- No cash handling on site.
Reporting a concern
If you have a concern about someone we work with, contact our Safeguarding Lead on safeguarding@adaptscot.co.uk. If a person is in immediate danger, call 999. Non-urgent concerns can also be raised with the City of Edinburgh Council Adult Protection line on 0131 200 2324.
Training
All client-facing staff complete adult-protection refresher training every 24 months. Records are held by the Safeguarding Lead.
