Accessibility statement

We design AdaptScot's website to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. If something doesn't work for you, we want to hear about it.

Conformance status

This website is designed and tested to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Automated accessibility checks (axe-core) run on every deploy.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML and proper heading hierarchy on every page.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicator with a 2px copper outline at 3px offset.
  • Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page.
  • Body text contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1; large text and UI components at least 3:1.
  • Form fields with persistent labels, error messages, and generous touch targets.
  • No animation that runs more than five seconds; respects prefers-reduced-motion.

Known limitations

  • Some illustrative imagery uses decorative alt text — substantive images carry descriptive alternatives.
  • PDF documents linked from case studies may not yet be tagged for screen readers. We are working through them.
